RIP Greg Ham of Men at Work

The toughest part of this whole process has been the lack of feed back.  I have been trying to tweak the podcast by what I feel I like.  The problem is that I don't like listening to me.  So it is basically all shit to me.  I finally received some feed back.  The consensus is that I start off well then babble.  So this week I took a deep breath and really became the producer of my own podcast.  I hope you enjoy the results.

Recommendations:It's a double animation recommendation week!! The hard work of both groups of people create the awesome art that is animation.  You really cannot have one without the other.  If you are an animation (cartoon and anime) junkie like me, both are well worth your time.

Get Well Larry Miller!

In this episode I will talk about:

  • Larry J. Miller! He was on an episode of "You Made it Weird" He also has his weekly podcast called "This Week with Larry Miller." He had a bad accident the other week. He is expected to fully recover. But they did re-post an episode this week. It is a good episode so go take a listen. But get well soon!!!!
  • My podcast is the red headed step child if Nerdist got it on with This week with Larry Miller and enjoyed a burrito afterwards. Now that's an image. Ok, this is only in my dreams but maybe one day? I'll be funny and inspirational but hopefully not bald. mmm...I'm going with silly with a touch of whimsy. Clearly I miss but...gotta keep trying.
  • It has been a tough week for everyone so I want to look at the positive stuff that happened.
  • I totally am not upset about being stood up by Nerdist for the 4th time. They did eventually reschedule but I'm really irritated. I do understand
  • Kickstarter is awesome. Both the projects I backed got funded! I donated to the Inspector Spacetime project. Also the Zack meets the Zombie book got funded!! It was tense there for a while.
  • I friended Ron Paulsen on FB. Honestly I rather he follow my twitter. I do more funny stuff there. NARF!
  • Recommendations of the week: Check out Scott Sigler on Nerdist! I've been following him on and off since 2005. If you like him then might I recommend Mark Yoshimoto Nemcoff . His stories are really cool. I would also recommend Mike Bennett "One Among the Sleepless" is soooo good!!

I end the podcast by attempting Larry Miller's brilliant pod closer

Thank you for listening.  Seize YOUR burrito!

Opening and closing songs are from the 2008 URI Ram Band. Opening song is "Get it on" and closing theme is "Voodoo"

In this episode I talk about the comedy central taping.  I got hang out with Gillian.  We saw the show twice.  Chris said hi to us.  I got a Chris Hardwick hug (tm pending).

I also met Chloe Dystra.  I was luke warm in my description of her.  The gentlemen around us asked "Who is that hot babe."  I told them it is the game reviewer and cosplay specialist Chloe Dystra.  She is very tall.  She was wearing heels.  I was not.

Ok, I'm hobbit sized so EVERYONE is taller than I am!!!  I get this. Nevertheless..she is very tall, young and beautiful.

The portable recorder I am going to order is the Zoom H4N: http://www.amazon.com/Zoom-Handy-Portable-Digital-Recorder/dp/B001QWBM62/ref=lh_ni_t

I finally start reading from this awesome script.  It is epic.

I'm still waiting on tickets for CH's show.  Hope's spring eternal.

My iTunes feed is still not fixed.  I think I will just delete and make a new on if this issue isn't resolved by next week.

Nerdist SF Sketchfest

New hosting site means new opening and closing music.  It's still the URI Ram Marching Band 2008.  The opener is Get It On and the closer is Voodoo.

This week I do the following:

1) complain about Mevio

2) talk about Nerdist Live

3) complain about Chris' old jokes and be thankful that he's doing a special

I may have to red-do my podcast on iTunes.  I'll let you know if/when that happens.

I wonder if I should call this the "I'm not Chris Hardwick's fan girl even though every podcast mentions Nerdist in some form or another."  But seriously, I have lots of fun talking about things.  I talk about the suprising number of downloads.

There will be at the min of two more Nerdist Live shows.

Fun Fact:  It's really Jonah that I'm after until being his fan girl became too mainstream.  ;-)

SaxyNerdist (New nickname?) heads to DC.  Yes it was my 4th live Nerdist Podcast.  I give a quick review of the show.  Lesson from the show: Chris IS half Italian and you should not piss him off.  Seriously.  Don't do it.

I give shout outs and do a 10 min quemment.

If you like the quemment then pass it over to the Nerdist.

I'm working on my quemment for the Live Nerdist show in DC.  It has the potential to be awesome.  If I deliver it right it could be really powerful and awesome.

A great group of Nerdist!

In this episode I talk about how I humble bragged!  Albert Brooks was gracious enough to reply to my tweet and wished Chris Hardwick a happy birthday.  This is the LAST time I'm mentioning it.  I swear/promise!

I talk about the live show.  It was awesome! I got home at 1am but it was totally worth it.

Gladstone now follows me on twitter.  I have a feeling he won't be if he ever listens to this podcast.

New ideas for segments:

1) A verse and a chorus...i sing a verse and a chorus of my favorite songs.  I love singing and this is a way to help me find my voice....

2) Bad Acting Theater.  I read from a script posted on Amazon script.  I am looking at Gladiators vs. Zombies.  This movie needs to be made.  http://studios.amazon.com/projects/2909

Chris Hardwick had a birthday.  I did stuff.  Was it epic?  Probably not in the big picture of the universe or Mr. Hardwick's life but everyone learned an important lesson and grew as a result.

Music is Tim Mnchin's Not Perfect.  Much like that title this song is less than perfection.  Who needs perfection when you got heart right?  Mmmm.....

I wrote the lyrics and sang the song.  I'm not sure it was one of my better ideas.  While I love singing I'm not sure others love hearing it.

Lyrics

This is the Nerdist

It is a community

fulled with nice and creative people

It was started by a guy who

hosted a show called singled out

and now he #humblebrags about that hair

And here's the really weid part

It was really simple at the start

but now it is a global phenomena

This is the Nerdist

and its fine

it's where we spend the vast majroity of our (free) time

it's  not perfect but it's ours

3) That Ram Band

NOTE:  I really need to lay off the Nerdist podcast.  I'm picking up too many Hardwick-isms although to be fair they were probably Di-isms first.  I suppose I could always use the age card.  Yeah!  That excatly what I'll do.  Oh who am I kidding.
